Gentlemen:

As you may recall, each year our Association awards scholarships to children or grandchildren of employees of our Association contractor members in the amount of $5,000 each. It is limited to applicants who_engage in a course of study related to the construction industry, such as Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc. We have an outside professional scholarship committee who reviews the applications and determines the recipients. Ordinarily, we grant five scholarships in the amount of $5,000 each, but this year, the quality of the applications was so extraordinarily high that our Association decided to grant seven $5,000 scholarships.

I am pleased to inform you that one of this year’s recipients is Michael D. Corbelle, whose father is or was recently employed by our member, Modem Continental, and is a member of Piledrivers Local 56.

This year, we are having an award ceremony on Thursday, July 27th at 6:30 p.m. at the Charles River Country Club, 483 Dedham Street, Newton Centre, Massachusetts, which we have invited each of the recipients and their parents to attend. We have also arranged for a public relations firm to be present, take photographs and issue press releases to various concerned parties, including the media from the various recipients’ hometowns.

Our Executive Committee has asked me to invite you to attend this reception for the scholarship recipients. Kindly advise me if you will be able to attend, and if so, I look forward to seeing you then.
Best regards.

Very truly yours,

John D. O'Reilly, III
